A Fun, Old Fashioned, Family Christmas...

It’s time again for a fun, old-fashioned, family Christmas! The holiday season is one of my favorite times of the year. It seems to lift the spirits of all… bringing families and friends together, creating a sense of community, reminiscing about the olden days, and who can forget the Moravian treats from Dewey’s Bakery in Winston-Salem? Of course, it can also create stressful times; an abundance of tasks and an absence of time make this season exhausting for many. This edition of the column is for the ladies- my hat is off to you all for making so much happen for your families throughout the holidays, and I feel that the least I can do is help you with one of the most daunting tasks of all: shopping for men.
How do you find the perfect gift for the man who has everything? The short and simple answer is to shop at Hampton’s, but I am not one to cut corners, so here we will dive deeper into the art of gifting masterfully…
Most men tend to buy their wants and needs throughout the year, so it can be especially difficult to find the ideal item or experience to satisfy their tastes and desires; however, I feel that I can speak for the majority of the male population in saying we are always appreciative of the efforts and items we are given. Socks and boxers aren’t necessarily bad gifts, but thoughtful gifts will always prevail. Consider his hobbies, interests, and personality traits. Is he a golfer? An athlete? Does he appreciate good style (or maybe need a little help with it)? Love to travel? Did his good sunglasses find their way to the bottom of the lake this summer? A gift with personal touch and meaning is sure to make his heart grow by three sizes that day.
When a one-year membership to the Jelly of the Month Club simply won’t do, specialty items he would normally pass on buying himself take the top prize, and don’t be afraid to push the boundaries a little. Sure, khakis, a blue shirt, and navy blazer are in his comfort zone, but when searching for a gift to have him rocking around the Christmas tree, expand the horizon a bit and add some excitement. Knowing that you believe he can pull off the look will boost his confidence and make it more memorable than an Official Red Ryder, carbine action, 200-shot, range model air rifle.
I take pride in making Hampton’s a true specialty store, with many of the products being made exclusively for us, and some even being the only ones of certain items in the United States. With an expansive inventory ranging from the most luxurious cashmeres out of Italy to exotic collectible knives and pens, along with limitless possibilities for custom clothing, I wholeheartedly believe that Hampton’s is the best gift store for men in the Charlotte and Lake Norman area. The holiday season is taxing enough as it is; swing by the store and let us take care of you.
Wishing you the hap-hap-happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap danced with Danny Kaye…
